I have been enjoying Mexican food all over St. George.  Today I had the chance to eat at the Green Iguana, in the Red Lion Hotel on Bluff Street, in St. George.  It was delicious!  I didn’t know what to expect because I have loved eating at the Red Iguana and the Blue Iguana in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I was very excited to find a genuine Mexican restaurant with all the things I love:

  •          Appetizers:  Cheese nachos, quesadillas, guacamole and chips, flautitas and poppers
  •          Main Dishes:  Burritos, chimichangas, ensaladas, fajitas, tacos, seafood, steak, and combination plates
  •          Kids Selections:  Burritos, enchiladas, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, quesadillas and tacos
  •          Desserts:  Fried ice cream, flan, fudge brownies and churros
  •          Beverages:  Soda pop, lemonade, iced tea, jarritos, sangria, horchata and a full bar

The service at the Green Iguana Mexican Restaurant was great.  Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and personable.  We only had to wait for about 15 minutes to get a table for eight.

The Green Iguana is open Monday – Thursday from 11:00 am – 9:30 pm.  On Friday and Saturday the hours are 11:00 am – 10:00 pm.  The restaurant is closed on Sunday.  The Green Iguana caters events too.

The pricing at the Green Iguana is very reasonable.  We were served chips and salsa that was continuously refilled several times.  I ordered a combination plate for about $11 and it had two entrée’s with rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream.   I ate a pulled pork enchilada that had the best sweet pork I have ever tried.  I am excited to find a real Mexican Restaurant in the heart of St. George that I can enjoy with my family and friends.  You should give it a try!

Live life to the fullest with no regrets!
