The Community

Entrada at Snow Canyon is a luxury home community located in Southwestern Utah. It is a development large enough so that portions of it are located in three different cities; Santa Clara, Ivins and St George.

There are several different sections of the Entrada community all of which have their own price point. A few of the communities include: Chaco Bench, Chaco West, Kachina Cliffs, Toroweap, Lava Falls, Kachina Springs and The Reserve.

The Homes

All of the homes in the various communities are built southwest style, somewhat similar to Santa Fe style homes, but more modern.

Common to most of the homes are incredible views, huge picture windows and dramatic ceilings.

Custom ceiling designs include beamed, coffered, dome, tray and soffit. These are not your grandma’s ceilings, as they are designed to add architectural value to the home.

Entrada homes often have the ability to “open up to the outside”.  To do this, several of the floor to ceiling windows along the back of the home will slide into a slot in the wall. This gives the feeling of being outside even if you’re inside.

Walking outside onto the patio you’ll often see gas “fire pits”, hot water spas and infinity swimming pools all topped off with the amazing views.

Inside the homes, your eyes might be most attracted to the custom designed tiles on the floors, counters and walls, the enormous picture windows with unrivaled views, specialty lighting & first class interior painting.

Occasionally, natural elements you might expect to see outside are brought inside for the dramatic effect. For example, large tree trunks, stone walls and huge boulders.

The master bathrooms are; usually a very exciting, nothing held back environment. It is very common to see glass or brass sinks, unique plumbing fixtures, amazing bathtubs of all types, and huge walk in showers with various shower heads and water sprays.

Of course the master bathroom lighting and ceilings are often “done to the nines” to help compliment the space.

Another area of the Entrada home that is very common is a movie theater room with a projector and a wall sized movie screen.  Movie theater style chairs and a surround sound speaker system finish the needed touches.

Community Amenities

Entrada at Snow Canyon has several impressive amenities. The amenities are packaged into the country club membership. There are several country club membership levels which allow limited or unlimited access to the amenities depending on which level is chosen.

Country club one-time initiation fees range from $3,000 up to $15,000. Monthly dues start at $152/month and go up to $718. The club also requires that members spend at least $800 per year per membership at the club restaurant.

Part of the amenities include the beautiful Johnny Miller designed, private 18-hole golf course. The golf course covers more than 700 acres. Unsurprisingly, this course is rated number one in the state by Golf Digest Magazine.

There is also a fitness center that is 13,000 square feet in size. It includes a wide variety of fitness equipment, pickle ball courts, tennis courts and indoor and outdoor pools.

There is a 22,000 square foot main club house. It includes a restaurant and meeting rooms. The club house can be reserved for weddings, banquets, parties, business meetings and business retreats.

Home Prices

As of July 2018, homes listed for sale in the community were priced from about $500,000 up to $3,900,000.

A $500,000 home will get you a 1600 SF single family detached home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a two car garage. Price per square foot for this style home would be about $254/sf.

A $3,900,000 home would get you a 9,000 square foot detached, two level single family home. This home would include 6 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a four or five car garage. This particular home sits on a half-acre lot that backs up directly to Snow Canyon State Park. Of course the backyard includes a fire pit, a swimming pool and all the amazing views you can handle.

The St George Metro Area

Entrada at Snow Canyon is located in what is traditionally called St George, UT. The “St George area” is made up of four cities; St George, Ivins, Santa Clara and Washington.

The area is very popular and is growing rapidly.

In fact, in March 2018 the US Census Bureau named the St George Metro area as the fastest growing metro area in the nation. During 2016 and 2017 there was a 4% population increase.

The current population is listed at about 165,000. Of course since that Census announcement and the writing of this article, another one or two thousand more people will have moved to the area.

The attraction is caused by several factors.

One would be the climate. The weather is fairly moderate about nine months out of the year. The other three months, summer, are hot but not nearly as hot as say Las Vegas or Phoenix.

Another draw is the red rock beauty of the surrounding hills and valleys. Nearby Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State park were actually set aside as state or national parks due to how amazingly stunning they are.

The community itself is also part of the attraction. The people are friendly and the crime rate is low.

There is a four year university that draws young adults to choose St George and Dixie University as the place to get a college education.

The growth itself actually causes more growth as people decide to move here to take advantage of the large number of job opportunities.

Another pull to the area are all of the local activities and events. These include Tuachan amphitheater with its plays and concerts. There are a number of museums and historical buildings. Likewise, the St George Marathon, The Half Ironman Triathlon, and the Huntsman World Senior Games attract participants from around the nation.

The area certainly doesn’t lack for restaurants. There are the usual fast food restaurants or you can enjoy the several upscale restaurants and their $50 per person meals.

Of course if even more variety is needed, Mesquite also has upscale restaurants and casinos and is only about 30 minutes away. An hour or so beyond that is Las Vegas.

So if you’re looking for an upscale home located in a small but vibrant community, Entrada at Snow Canyon just might be the place to settle down.

Kudos to the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club website for providing some of the information for this article.
