St. George Golf Communities
Bloomington Country Club
Built in 1969, the Bloomington Country Club was the second course built in southern Utah and the first private country club. The course was designed utilizing a concept that is found with increasing rarity in modern-day courses—pure Bermuda grass on wide, gently sloping fairways. Dixie Red Hills Golf Course
Southern Utah’s first golf course, the 9-hole Dixie Red Hills was aptly named for it is surrounded by some of the area’s most vibrant red rock cliff sides. The ample trees and green fairways provide spectacular contrast to the red cliffs and sandstone outcroppings all around it; while the area’s perennially blue sky adds another layer of vivid color to this course’s palate. Entrada at Snow Canyon
The first course in Utah to be designed by World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Johnny Miller, Entrada at Snow Canyon opened in 1997 among the top ten of Golf Digest’s new upscale public golf courses and has consistently earned high ratings (starting with a ten and above) on Zagat Survey’s America’s Top Golf Courses. St. George Golf Club
Nestled in Bloomington Hills on the southern end of St. George, the St. George Golf Club opened in 1976 as a privately owned course but came into the very capable hands of St. George City in the mid-1980s. St. George Golf Club is noted for several distinctive features. Level elevation throughout makes it an excellent course for walking and favorable greens make it friendly to all levels of players. Southgate Golf Course
The front nine of this course was entirely rebuilt after being lost to the Santa Clara River flooding in 2005, and it has come back all the stronger. While the river no longer challenges the course’s structure, it does gently challenge its players along most of the front nine, while also providing some great river views. Sun River Golf Course
The SunRiver Golf Course is at the southern-most tip of St. George very near the Utah/Nevada state line and lies along Virgin River. Set into the rolling desert hills of the south, SunRiver features a lake at the junction between its front nine (hole no. 9 hits over it) and back which bring an oasis to the course and a great stopping point for a wide variety of migrating birds throughout the fall and spring.
