I invited my parents to breakfast this morning and they suggested we try DeDe’s Restaurant in St. George, Utah.  DeDe’s is a quaint little diner on the corner of Dixie Drive and Valley View Drive.  We were immediately seated and given a menu with wonderful breakfast selections.  DeDe’s has been voted BEST OMELETS in St. George by Trip Advisor.   I selected an omelet and buttermilk biscuit.  They were both delicious.  My parents decided on strawberries and cream french toast.  The french toast and bacon were delicious too.  My grandfather was a cook and my mom talked about how DeDe’s food reminded her of her father’s cooking at home, years ago.

What a wonderful surprise!  My parents invited me to breakfast and surprised me by driving to Hurricane, Utah. Hurricane is about 19 miles from St. George.  There we came upon an eclectic, fun café located at 138 South Main Street.  The outside is fun and inviting.  The inside is colorful and has art from artists in the area displayed on the walls.  There is a great patio area too.  There are fun quotes on the walls.  There is a welcoming feeling when you walk in the door. 

The atmosphere is great, but the food is fabulous.  We were there for breakfast and the menu was expansive with all the right breakfast foods.  Their pancakes, French toast, eggs, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal and fruit were delicious.  Their bacon is the best bacon I have ever…

I have been visiting St. George for a few decades.  I recently purchased a new home and now I live here.  I have never been to the Black Bear Diner until now.  There are numerous locations all over the western United States, but the restaurant here in St. George is the only one in Southern Utah.  I saw several families waiting to eat at this restaurant and decided to try the place out.  I was not disappointed. 

The restaurant offers several menus:

  •          Breakfast
  •          Lunch
  •          Dinner
  •          Dessert
  •          Cubs (Children’s Menu)

The Bear Paw Café, at 75 N Main Street in St. George, Utah, is a favorite of many.  When I used to visit St. George when I was on vacation, the Bear Paw was as MUST for our family.  Now that I live in St. George, the Bear Paw still draws us in for brunch at least a couple of times each month.  Each morning you will find the sidewalk in front of the Bear Paw crowded with people waiting in line for breakfast.  The Bear Paw is open daily from 7:30 to 2:30 pm.  We avoid the rush by going at 1:00 for brunch. 

The menu at the Bear Paw is 24 pages long.  Just the drink menu takes up about eight pages.  You can order an Italian soda, specialty drinks, smoothies, tea, coffee, regular beverages or an expresso from the expresso bar.  The favorites of our…
