You have never truly had a sugar cookie until you have eaten a sugar cookie from Swig. Swig got its start in St. George, Utah in 2010. According to the Swig website, Owner and Founder Nicole Tanner and her husband were brainstorming business ideas and they thought a drive-by drink shop near Dixie State University would be a great idea. The name was inspired by a single question Nicole’s husband asked, “Can I have a swig of your drink?” Since its opening, Swig has become very popular with residents of the St. George area and tourists who have heard about the joint. Now locations for this fun drive through can be found all over the state of Utah with 15 locations and a 16th coming soon to Arizona soon.
There are two locations in St. George:
989 East Tabernacle
287 West St. George Boulevard
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 10:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 11:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 11:00pm
Swig is known for their fabulous “dirty drinks.” You can add a “dirty shot” to any drink that they have. Some of the dirty shots include: coconut, cherry, green apple, mango, peach watermelon, tiger’s blood, pineapple, guava, grapefruit, passion fruit and blue curacao. These can be added to Coke, Sprite, Root beer, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, PowerAde and Dr. Pepper. They have drinks with names like: Dizzle, Bloody Wild, Texas Tab, Candy Girl, Paradise and the Islander.
I love Swig drinks, but I visit Swig for their cookies. They are amazing! Their sugar cookies are better than any sugar cookie I have ever tried. They are delivered to you cold and it is hard to describe how delicious they are. I recently branched out and tried their oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies and they are delicious too. My children enjoy the chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies.
If you have not had the chance to visit a Swig location, you should definitely find a time to do it. Don’t be discouraged by the long car lines ahead of you. The lines go quickly and soon you will have a “dirty drink” and a delicious, cold sugar cookie in your hand.
