If you have never had a chance to attend a play, musical or concert at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre, you are missing out. Tuacahn Amphitheatre is located in the red rocks in Ivins, near St. George. The mission of Tuacahn is this: Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world class family entertainment and unparalleled artistic and academic experience that matches the majesty of our canyon.
This year Tuacahn is offering the following plays as part of their “Broadway in the Canyon” series: Shrek: The Musical, Newsies, Mamma Mia and Fairy Tale Christmas. Ticket prices start at just $29. You can also buy packages that offer savings, if you purchase tickets to all three shows, not including Fairy Tale Christmas. If you want to make a night of it, you can buy one of three delicious pre-show dinners for about $14: Fiona’s Feast, New York Kitchen and Donna’s Greek Taverna. These specialty dinners are served nightly on the outdoor plaza under Tuacahn’s towering red cliffs.
Something that I didn’t know about Tuacahn is that they have Saturday Market. Local artwork, crafts, food and entertainment are all available in this outdoor market, in the canyon. The hours are from 9:00am to 1:00 pm. The Saturday Market at Tuacahn is quickly becoming a tradition in St. George.
